EEVEELUTION

The Seven Evolved Forms of Eevee

Pokémon is a world famous franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri. It debuted as a Game Boy game, but after its immense success and popularity, it was merchandised into several anime, trading card games, manga, toys, books, and several other items.

Eevee is known as the evolution Pokémon, due to its ability to evolve into seven different forms. It can evolve into Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, and Glaceon respectively.  I believe that this, in a way, shows divergent evolution. In divergent evolution, several types of organisms arise from the same ancestor. Eevee and its evolved forms definitely exhibit this type of evolution, because of the fact that there are seven different Pokémon that you can get from a single Eevee. The most well-known real world example of divergent evolution, on the other hand, is Darwin’s finches, which evolved from only one finch species.

Eevee is known to have unstable genetic material due to the irregularly-shaped genetic structure, so it also shows different ways of evolving. The most commonly known method of evolution is by using evolutionary stones. Evolutionary stones are known to radiate energy that causes the genetic material of Eevee to mutate. When mutations accumulate, it may result in adaptive evolutionary changes, which is what happens when Eevee is exposed to an evolutionary stone. Evolution in the natural world also comes from a huge series of mutations, albeit in a slower and more gradual manner.

The second mechanism in which Eevee evolves is by increasing its happiness value. The happiness value of a Pokémon increases every time increases in level, challenges a gym leader, walks around 256 steps and other different ways. Every time a Pokémon increases in level, it becomes stronger and more adapted.

The third and final mechanism in which Eevee evolves is through different locations. This is the most common type of evolution that we see in nature. Organisms tend to evolve to be more adapted to the environment that they live in. For example, Route 217 in the Sinnoh Region of the Pokémon world is the location where Eevee evolves into Glaceon. The route is always in the middle of a huge blizzard, and the non-ice type Pokémon are always buffeted by the hail when in battle. The hail also doubles the power of ice-type moves, so it is more advantageous for ice-type Pokémon. The other location, the Eterna Forest, works in a similar manner.

Out of Africa, Into the Philippines

The oldest confirmed date for a modern Homo sapiens species in Eastern Asia was found in the Philippines, and the earliest human remains were those of the Tabon Man, a collection fo fragments found in the Tabon Cave in Palawan by National Museum anthropologist Robert Fox. The Tabon Mand dates to roughly 7,000, 20,000, and 22,000 BCE. The cave itself was named after the Tabon bird, which inhabits the cave itself.

Research shows that the skull of the Tabon Man is similar to that of the Ainus of Japan and those who live in Tasmania. This raises a point, for the oldest human remains were found in Ethiopian and Israel, which dates 120,000 years ago. But there is another one, LH-18 found in Ngaloba Tanzania which dates at around the same time.

This shows that the fossil evidence found in the Philippines support the Out of Africa model , and that the Philippines seems to be one of the last places on earth to be inhabited by humans, due to the fact that our country is situated very far from Africa. Another thing that seems to be the reason why the Philippines was not inhabited as quickly as the others was because the country is an archipelago, which made travel towards it impossible if it were not for the Ice Ages.

Is Blood really thicker than Water?

Blood is thicker than water. Blut ist dicker als Wasser. This age old German proverb is actually more accurate than it looks. People actually tend to favor those who are related to them compared to those who aren’t even if they are friends, due to the inclusive fitness.

People made to choose between their relatives and their friends usually end up choosing their families. These decisions are made with much thinking on the part of the person, because, unlike choosing between two friends, people tend to favor their families heavily, whereas in choosing between two people unrelated to you is generally much easier.

People tend to choose their relative due to inclusive fitness and altruism. The closer the relation of a person is to you, the higher the tendency for you to sacrifice yourself for him/her, or in this case sacrifice your relationship with the other in order to maintain this one.
